Ibogaine & Plant Medicine Work

Work with ibogaine patients as a licensed therapist.

Very few clinicians ever get to do structured therapy around ibogaine treatment. Mindscape runs a medically supervised ibogaine program, and our therapist network delivers the preparation and integration therapy around it — remotely, inside a 12-week arc, with training provided. This page is what that work actually involves.

The Role

The therapy around the treatment

  • Preparation sessions before treatment: expectations, intention, psychophysical readiness, and support planning, across weekly 50-minute video sessions.
  • Integration sessions after treatment: the long work of translating an intensive experience into durable change, inside a structured 12-week arc.
  • A chart built for this care: validated assessment trends, daily check-ins, medication context, and the dosing schedule — so your sessions land where they matter.
  • A care team, not a referral: the medical and psychology staff treating the same patient share the same chart and are one message away.

The Medical Model

You are never the safety net

  • Patients complete medical and psychological screening before treatment — eligibility and safety are owned by the medical team, not by you.
  • Dosing happens inside the medically supervised program, never in your sessions and never as your liability.
  • You see medical clearance status and dosing dates in the chart, so preparation and integration are timed to the treatment itself.
  • Escalation paths are built in: risk flags route to the clinical team with defined response chains.

Beyond Ibogaine

Plant medicine work, one clinical discipline

The craft this program trains and pays for — readiness work before a non-ordinary state, integration work after it, measurement throughout — is the same discipline clinicians bring to ketamine, psilocybin, and other psychedelic-assisted care.

If you already practice preparation or integration therapy in any of those contexts, this work will feel familiar; if you practice it here, it will transfer. The program structure, session rates, and application are shared across the network: read the 12-week program in depth or see compensation and requirements.

Requirements

What we ask for

  • An active independent clinical license in good standing: LCSW, LPC, LMFT, LMHC, PhD or PsyD.
  • Real depth in trauma-informed work — many ibogaine patients are working with opioid addiction, PTSD, and complex histories.
  • Current malpractice insurance, a private telehealth setting, and an encrypted device.
  • Licensure in the states where your assigned patients live — assignments are matched to your licenses.
  • Openness to structured training: ibogaine experience is not required, and psychedelic or KAP background is preferred but not required either.

Common Questions

Ibogaine work, answered

No. Psychedelic or KAP experience is preferred but not required, and prior ibogaine-specific experience is rare in the field. We provide structured training in preparation and integration for medically supervised ibogaine treatment, plus a supervised mock session before your first patient.

No. Dosing happens inside Mindscape's medically supervised program, run by the medical team. Your work is the therapy around it: preparation sessions before treatment and integration sessions after, delivered remotely by video.

Yes, fully. Preparation and integration sessions are delivered by video from your own practice setting. Assignments are matched to the states where you hold licensure.

Preparation builds readiness — expectations, intention, psychophysical readiness, and support planning. Integration helps patients translate an intensive experience into durable change, across a 12-week weekly arc supported by validated assessments and daily check-ins visible in your chart.

The Mindscape medical team. Patients complete medical and psychological screening before treatment, and the clinical team owns eligibility, medication decisions, and monitoring. You will see clearance status and dosing dates in the chart, and the care team is one message away.
