The Whole Number

What the Price Includes, What It Doesn't, and What Comes After

The most common question we hear is not the price, it is what the price actually covers. So here is the whole number, including the parts most clinics leave off the page.

Included in every program price

Your accommodation for the full stay at the residence you book, all chef-prepared meals, pre-arrival medical screening including laboratory work and cardiac screening (EKG), the medically supervised treatment itself, continuous medical monitoring during dosing, a guided 5-MeO-DMT (Bufo) ceremony, integration sessions during your stay, airport transfers, and the 90-day integration program after you leave. There is no facility fee, no medication surcharge, and no per-session billing on top of the program price.

Not included, told to you straight

Getting here. Airfare to Cancún or Cozumel, the ferry from Playa del Carmen, and any hotel night on either side of your program are yours to arrange. Costs vary too much by origin and season for us to quote a number we would stand behind — the travel guide walks through the route and realistic ranges.

A passport, if you need one. Mexico requires a valid passport. If yours has expired, the expedited route covers timing and cost.

Anyone travelling with you. A partner or family member who comes along but is not being treated joins as a companion at $250 per day, covering their shared room, meals, and full facility access — details and calculator here. If both of you want treatment, that is a couples program instead, priced per couple above.

What you'll spend after you go home

Almost nobody publishes this. Your program includes 90 days of integration support from our team, so the first three months are covered. Beyond that, plan honestly for: ongoing therapy or integration work with a provider near you, whose rates depend entirely on where you live; any medications your own physician continues or tapers after treatment, which is a clinical decision made with your prescriber at home, never assumed; your normal follow-up care, labs, and any specialist care your condition already required; and a few days of margin before returning to a full work schedule. We will not put invented figures on those, because they depend on your insurance, your location, and your providers — but we will go through the list with you during your prescreen so nothing on it is a surprise in month two. What aftercare looks like · what integration work involves.

Comparison Shopping, Done Right

How to Compare Ibogaine Clinic Pricing

If you're holding quotes from more than one clinic, the numbers are almost never comparable as written — different programs include wildly different things. These are the questions that make two quotes mean the same thing. Ask them of us, and ask them of anyone else you're considering.

On medical supervision

  • Is a physician physically on-site 24 hours a day, or on call from elsewhere?
  • Is a nurse present overnight?
  • Is cardiac monitoring continuous during treatment, or checked periodically?
  • What happens in a medical emergency? How far is the nearest hospital?

On screening

  • Is cardiac screening required, or optional?
  • Is it included in the quoted price, or billed on top?
  • Will they treat someone who declines screening? (If yes, that tells you something.)

On what the number covers

  • Is the quote per person or per couple?
  • Are meals and accommodation inside the number?
  • Is therapy included, or sold as an add-on?
  • Is aftercare included, and for how long?
  • What is explicitly excluded?

On the harder questions

  • What is the policy if you're medically declined after paying?
  • Who, by name and credential, is supervising treatment?
  • What happens if you need to stay longer than planned?

We've written a fuller version of this framework at how to choose an ibogaine treatment clinic. We'd genuinely rather you ask these questions of everyone, including us, than pick a clinic on price alone. You can meet our medical team before you decide anything, and cardiac screening explains the single biggest cost driver behind any honest quote.

Financial Options

Making Treatment Accessible

MindScape Retreat offers structured payment arrangements for patients who need flexibility. We recognize that the upfront cost of ibogaine treatment, even at its most accessible price point, can feel like a significant barrier. Our care coordinators work directly with patients to design a payment schedule that fits their situation. Please raise this during your initial consultation and we will find a path forward together.

Veterans and active-duty military personnel may have access to funding through veteran advocacy organizations that specifically support psychedelic-assisted treatment. Organizations such as MAPS, Heroic Hearts Project, and Veteran Mental Health Leadership Coalition have programs or referral networks that can help offset costs. Our team is familiar with these resources and can guide you through the application process.

Ibogaine treatment is not currently covered by most private health insurance plans in the United States, as ibogaine remains a Schedule I controlled substance domestically. This landscape is shifting as clinical evidence accumulates and legislative frameworks evolve. Some patients have utilized health sharing ministries, flexible spending accounts, or health savings accounts to cover a portion of costs. We recommend consulting your benefits coordinator about available options.

The tax deductibility of ibogaine treatment as a medical expense depends on your jurisdiction and individual circumstances. In the United States, unreimbursed medical expenses exceeding a threshold of your adjusted gross income may be deductible. We recommend consulting a tax professional who can evaluate your specific situation and provide guidance on documentation.

Understanding the Value

What Determines Ibogaine Treatment Cost?

Program pricing reflects duration, medical complexity, and staffing intensity. A 5-day wellness retreat requires less cardiac monitoring than a 14-day Parkinson's protocol with daily NAD+ infusions. Opioid and SSRI programs demand specialized pre-treatment preparation, medication tapering supervision, and extended post-administration observation — all of which require additional physician and nursing hours.

Every MindScape program includes components that many clinics charge separately: pre-treatment cardiac screening and bloodwork, 24/7 physician and RN coverage, psychological therapy sessions, daily yoga and meditation, sound therapy, cold water immersion, therapeutic massage, a guided 5-MeO-DMT (Bufo) ceremony, and 90 days of post-treatment integration coaching with alumni community access. Competitors often quote a base price and add $2,000 to $6,000 in extras.

Travel to Cozumel is the main cost outside your program price. Most patients budget $300 to $600 total round trip — flying directly to Cozumel, or to Cancun with the 45-minute ferry from Playa del Carmen (roughly $20) — varying by departure city, season, and booking window. We arrange airport pickup and all local transportation once you arrive.

Pricing Questions

Cost and Payment, Frequently Asked Questions

Ibogaine treatment at MindScape Retreat costs between $7,500 and $15,500 depending on the program selected. All programs are all-inclusive, covering accommodation, daily meals, 24/7 physician and nursing supervision, pre-treatment cardiac screening, NAD+ infusions, therapeutic support, and 90-day integration coaching. There are no hidden fees or add-on charges.

Ours are the prices above: all-inclusive programs start at $7,500 for a 5-day retreat and $8,500 for a 7-day clinical program; condition-specific programs run $11,500 to $15,500, and the VIP Oceanfront residence starts at $15,500 for 7 days with longer stays priced per day. Across Mexico more broadly, prices vary enormously, and the variation usually reflects what is included — particularly whether a physician is on-site 24/7 and whether cardiac screening is required. Compare inclusions before you compare numbers. The only additional expense with us is travel to Cozumel, typically $300 to $600 round trip.

Individual programs are per person — one guest receiving treatment. Couples programs are per couple: both people, one price ($13,000 for the 5-day retreat, $15,000 for the 7-day treatment, $25,500 for 10–12 days, $29,000 for 14 days). A partner who comes along without being treated joins as a companion at $250 per day. When you compare quotes from different clinics, check which way theirs is quoted — it is the most common place a comparison goes wrong.

A $2,500 deposit reserves a standard treatment program at Casa Selva or The Hacienda. The VIP Oceanfront Residence deposit is $5,000, fully refundable until 7 days before arrival, after which it converts to a reschedule credit. A one-day 5-MeO-DMT session is reserved with a $500 deposit.

Beyond the multi-day ibogaine programs, a one-day private 5-MeO-DMT (Bufo) session is $1,450 at our Casa Selva jungle facility or The Hacienda downtown, or $2,200 as a private session at the Oceanfront Residence. Multi-day 5-MeO-DMT retreats run $3,500 to $6,500 for three days and $5,000 to $8,500 for five days, by residence. Psilocybin programs (a three-night stay with two guided sessions) are $3,500 to $6,500. All prices are per person and all-inclusive.

Yes. Casa Selva, our jungle facility, carries our base pricing. The Hacienda, a five-bedroom residence in downtown Cozumel, is $2,000 above the same program at Casa Selva. The Oceanfront Residence is our VIP tier, with a 7-day all-inclusive program at $15,500. A companion who is not receiving treatment can join any program for $250 per day, which covers their room, meals, and full facility access.

Many psychedelic retreat programs do not publish their pricing at all, and quotes can arrive with surprise add-ons for screening, aftercare, or accommodation upgrades. MindScape publishes every price openly: guided one-day 5-MeO-DMT ceremonies from $1,450, multi-day psychedelic retreats from $3,500, full clinical ibogaine programs from $7,500 to $15,500 — each all-inclusive of medical screening, physician supervision, accommodation, meals, and integration support. When comparing programs, ask exactly what the quote includes and what medical safety is behind it.

The structures are different enough that raw numbers mislead. A MindScape program is a single, defined episode of care with one all-inclusive price covering accommodation, meals, 24/7 physician and nursing supervision, cardiac screening, therapy, and 90 days of integration support. US residential rehab is typically billed per stay at rates that vary enormously by facility type and level of care, often with screening, therapy hours, and aftercare billed separately — and outpatient or medication-based care is billed on an ongoing basis for as long as it continues. The honest comparison is not our number against another number; it is what each number includes, for how long, and what gets billed after it.

Most private health insurance plans do not currently cover ibogaine treatment in the United States or abroad, as ibogaine remains a Schedule I substance in the US and is not FDA-approved. Several veteran advocacy organizations provide funding assistance for veterans seeking ibogaine treatment, and some patients have had success with health sharing ministries or flexible spending accounts. Some related costs — travel, or your local pre-treatment bloodwork — may be claimable under existing coverage. Our team can guide you through available options during your consultation.

Yes. Financing is available, including 0% APR promotional options through third-party healthcare lenders such as CareCredit for qualified applicants. Our care coordinators can also design a structured payment schedule directly. See the financing calculator on our ibogaine financing page, and raise it during your free consultation — we would rather solve the payment question with you than have it be the reason you wait.

Every MindScape Retreat program includes: private accommodation, all daily meals, 24/7 on-site physician and registered nurse supervision, pre-treatment cardiac screening and bloodwork review, the full ibogaine treatment protocol, continuous cardiac monitoring during treatment, NAD+ infusions, daily yoga and meditation sessions, sound therapy, therapeutic massage, cold water immersion, a guided 5-MeO-DMT (Bufo) ceremony, and 90 days of post-treatment integration support including coaching calls and alumni community access.

Three things: your travel to Cozumel (flights and the ferry from Playa del Carmen), a valid passport if you do not have one, and a companion if someone comes with you without being treated, at $250 per day for their room, meals, and facility access. There is no facility fee, no medication surcharge, and no per-session billing on top of the program price.

Not from us during your stay. The costs outside the program price are your travel to Cozumel, a passport if you need one, and a companion if someone joins you without being treated, at $250 per day. The categories to plan for after you go home — ongoing therapy, any continuing medications, aftercare you choose to arrange — are covered honestly in the section above.

Your program includes 90 days of integration support from our team. Beyond that, plan for ongoing therapy or integration work with a provider near you, any medications your own physician continues or tapers, and your normal follow-up care. Those costs depend on your insurance, location, and providers, so we go through the full list with you during your prescreen rather than quoting invented figures.

Most patients budget $300 to $600 total round-trip from US cities, varying by departure city, season, and booking window. You can fly directly to Cozumel, or fly to Cancun and take the 45-minute ferry from Playa del Carmen (roughly $20). MindScape arranges airport pickup and all local transportation once you arrive.

Start with what you are treating rather than what you can spend — program length is a clinical decision, and a program that is too short for your situation is not a saving. The 5-day retreat ($7,500) is for personal growth without active dependency. The 7-day program ($8,500) is our most accessible clinical option. Condition-specific protocols — alcohol ($11,500–$13,500), opioids ($13,500), Suboxone/methadone transition ($15,500), kratom and 7-OH ($13,500), stimulants ($13,500), SSRIs ($13,500), benzodiazepines ($13,500), Parkinson's ($15,500) — reflect the additional medical complexity and length each involves. Free medical prescreening is the fastest way to find out which program actually applies to you.

Yes. Veterans, active-duty military, first responders, medical professionals, and government employees receive $750 off any treatment program. We also work with veteran advocacy organizations including Heroic Hearts Project, MAPS, and the Veteran Mental Health Leadership Coalition, which may provide funding assistance or referral support for veterans seeking treatment for PTSD, TBI, and service-connected substance use disorders.
