Profile
Coronaridine is an iboga-type indole alkaloid present in trace amounts in Tabernanthe iboga and at higher abundance in related Tabernaemontana species. Its receptor profile leans toward nicotinic acetylcholine receptor antagonism with reported anti-inflammatory and anti-leishmanial activity in animal/in vitro models.
Its pharmacological profile is distinct enough that derivatives of coronaridine have been studied as standalone development candidates for nicotinic-receptor-mediated indications.
