How it works
Why ibogaine is different for heroin
Conventional opioid detox means days of acute withdrawal — the muscle cramps, insomnia, restlessness and nausea that make so many people give up before they are through it. That barrier is physical and neurological, not a matter of willpower. Ibogaine addresses it at the source: it binds to mu-opioid receptors and resets their sensitivity, and in many people the acute withdrawal cascade is interrupted within hours during the session.
After the session, many patients describe weeks of markedly reduced craving — a neurological window opened by noribogaine, ibogaine's long-acting metabolite. We use that window to build integration, new routines and support, because that is where durable recovery is decided.
And we say plainly what ibogaine is not: it is not a cure, it is not FDA-approved, and without integration relapse happens. The evidence is promising and growing, and our obligation is to present it without overstating it.
Safety first
Today's heroin is a fentanyl problem too
Most illicit heroin now contains fentanyl or its analogs. That matters clinically: fentanyl is more potent, it is lipophilic so it stores in fatty tissue, and it can release for days after the last use. A protocol built only for classic heroin would miss that.
So screening comes first, always. Every patient receives a 12-lead EKG, full bloodwork and a physician evaluation before we confirm candidacy, because ibogaine affects heart rhythm and safety decides everything. If your recent supply likely contained fentanyl, we apply the extended monitoring from our fentanyl protocol.
The most important thing you can do is be honest with the medical team about your actual use. That honesty is what lets us keep the treatment safe for you.
The program
What your treatment includes
Mandatory cardiac screening
12-lead EKG and bloodwork before candidacy is confirmed. Ibogaine affects heart rhythm; unsupervised use is dangerous.
Fentanyl-contamination protocol
If your supply likely contained fentanyl, extended monitoring accounts for delayed release from fatty tissue.
Medically managed withdrawal
Comfort management and physician oversight through the pre-treatment window in a private residence.
Supervised session
Continuous cardiac telemetry with physicians present throughout, and emergency capability on site.
90-day integration
Structured sessions after treatment — the neuroplastic window is used or it is lost.
Methadone / Suboxone path
Already on maintenance therapy? A planned transition is required first, and we design it with you.

Confidential consultation
A free call to understand your use, your health and your goals. No judgment, no pressure.
Medical pre-screen
History, EKG and bloodwork. If treatment is not safe for you, we will tell you honestly.
Preparation and session
Comfort-managed pre-treatment window, then the session under continuous medical supervision.
Integration
